The Washtenaw County Chapter of MARSP is located in southeastern Michigan. The chapter has over 700 members.
The purpose of the Washtenaw Association of Retired School Personnel (WARSP) is to promote the general welfare and the economic and legislative interests of its members.
The WARSP Board is active throughout the year, meeting in person or by Zoom to serve its membership.
Four general membership luncheon meetings are held each year. They feature programs of interest to members, such as Candidate Forums, Communicating with People with Memory Loss, Trails and Tours in Washtenaw Parks, Dealing with COVID-19, and Bridge Michigan: An Overview of Michigan’s Nonpartisan, Nonprofit News Source.
Connections, the WARSP newsletter, is published at least twice a year. It is printed and mailed to each member as well as being emailed to them. Periodic announcements and information are emailed to members, as needed.
The WARSP Board and WARSP members provide support for local community endeavors: Donations to DonorsChoose projects, new books for the Children’s Literacy Network, and school supplies and toiletries for The Education Project, an organization that serves students experiencing homelessness and temporary living situations.
One-year chapter membership = $10.00
