The Dickinson County Chapter of MARSP has approximately 200 members is located in the western Upper Peninsula. We are an active group that hosts seven luncheons throughout the year, with a variety of program topics including retiree benefits changes, legislative issues, elder law, elder abuse, local history, health and wellness, to name a few.
We serve our community by volunteering as Salvation Army bell-ringers and collecting warm clothing items at Christmas, participating in a can drive for area food pantries, and collecting eye glasses for missions. We serve our local schools by hosting Pension 301 meetings in an effort to help pre-retirees plan for and understand what life after retirement entails. In addition, we offer mini-grants to area classroom teachers.
Our luncheons provide the perfect place and time to socialize with friends and former colleagues. It is also an occasion to remain connected and informed about legislative and benefits issues that affect retiree pensions.
